If you came to this blog to learn some expert tips for cooking sauces, you've come to the wrong place. I am not an expert. However, if you enjoy reading about the trial and error of an amateur cook, you will not be disappointed. It all started with a cookbook. I have never given cooking a second thought, until This Book. I remember my mom sending me to the cupboard for Her Book when I was a kid, and I would clutch it tightly to my chest to keep the worn binding from falling apart. I was lucky enough to receive The Book as a Christmas gift from Husband's grandma last year. This Book has become my cooking bible, but unfortunately, it won't tell me that my stove's temperatures run a bit lower than average, or that I shouldn't double a batch of my grandmother's cream puffs. That is something that I can only learn through my own blood, sweat, and tears - and we like to hope that doesn't occur too close to my mixing bowl.
